Psychiatric and Abuse Matters

Psychiatric and abuse matters encompass a range of legal issues, often involving individuals who have experienced psychological trauma, mental health conditions, or have been subjected to various forms of abuse, such as physical, sexual, emotional, or neglectful treatment.

Thorough evaluations, accurate diagnoses, and expert analysis of the medical aspects, 360 Medico Legal play a critical role in assessing psychiatric conditions, determining the causal link between trauma and abuse, and providing valuable evidence for legal proceedings.

Our role in Psychiatric and Abuse claims

Our independent medico legal experts play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing medical legal opinions on the medical aspects of these cases. Their expertise helps to establish the presence of psychiatric conditions, determine the causation of psychological trauma, and provide critical evidence for legal proceedings, including compensation claims, criminal investigations, or civil litigation.
Medico legal assessments in psychiatric and abuse matters involve comprehensive evaluations of the individual’s mental health, including clinical interviews, psychological testing, and a review of medical and psychiatric records. These assessments aim to diagnose psychiatric conditions, identify the presence of trauma-related symptoms, and evaluate the psychological impact of the abuse or mistreatment.
Medico legal experts provide objective evaluations and expert medico legal opinions on the medical aspects of these cases. Medico legal reports and expert testimony serve as crucial evidence in legal proceedings involving psychiatric and abuse matters. These reports provide a comprehensive analysis of the medical aspects, including diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and the impact of the psychiatric conditions or trauma on the individual’s life. They provide evidence in compensation claims, criminal investigations, or civil litigation for either the prosecution or defence.

The four stages of our process ensure that your Medico-Legal report is of the highest standard.

360 Medico Legal receives instructions from solicitors, insurers and case managers together with medical documents. The referrer is provided with a list of potential independent medical specialists. Often the enquiry needs a particular specialisation or field of practice, and 360 Medico Legal can assist with this.

An appointment is made with the client to visit our rooms. The 360 Medico Legal team ensures all necessary reports and medical information is available for the specialist.

The client attends our offices for their consultation with the independent medical specialist. To maximise efficiency, the client can see more than one specialist on the same day. Are you outside Perth? We also offer medico legal assessments via telehealth across Australia as well as in person at specific locations.

Our independent medico legal reports are completed by the specialist(s) and vetted by the in-house Quality Audit team - which is headed up by our CIR accredited & Registered Clinical Nurse Manager. The completed medico legal reports are then provided to the instructing referrer within two weeks of the final consultation.
